bud > 1978 Ayres Thrush, 600hp P&W, shown spraying Treflan on new cotton ground. Picture was taken at Utting Siding, AZ (south of Bouse) in 1978. This was the first load of a brand new spraying company, TAA Inc., of California. Pilot Bud Riggs, photo by wife.
bud > A pair of heavily loaded Cessna A188's, '70 something models, flying to the target field. Photo was taken from a Ford 1-Ton pulling a loaded 1,500 gallon mix trailer, as it passed the airplanes. We were indicating 95 mph airspeed. This was in southwestern Kansas, near Ulysess. Bud Riggs foreground, Bob Murphy background. Bob's wife was driving flat out, and Bud's wife snapped the shot.
bud > Spraying alfalfa, near Dell City, Texas. Weatherly 201C, 450 hp P&W R-985. The red and green lights on the light bar indicate I'm 3 feet to the left of my swath line, as calculated by the GPS swath guidance unit. The angled object on the right, is the wire cutter bar in the center of the windshield.
bud > Bud, trying to get in an elderly Ag-Cat. This was an A model that still had the original short wing. Never did find an easy way to get in without standing in the seat, as shown here. Taken 1982, at Neelyville, Missouri, while flying for James Farm Center of Corning, Arkansas.
bud > Annual Inspection on an AirTractor AT-301, 1983 model. Photo taken at Ft. Stockton, Texas.
bud > Bud waiting, in a Weatherly 201B. This was an unusual airplane. Note the engine oil filler cap just behind the cockpit. The white bump on the roof is the GPS antenna hiding behind the wire cutter bar. The cable from the cutter bar to the top of the tail is supposed to deflect wires over the tail.
bud > My partner, Stan, driving the flagging truck. This is the same load as the first picture in the gallery.
bud > Ag-Cat, lined up on the next pass across a rice field. Right in the center of the photo, is a man flagging on the canal bank. He is holding a large piece of plastic over his body, and is almost invisible instead of being an easy to see marker. Southeast Missouri, 1982.
bud > Lining up for landing near Neelyville, Missouri. A Model Ag-Cat. The airstrip is to the left of the road and parallel to it. All the fields you see here are rice. The object under the center of the wing, is the gas guage. Taken 1982.
